Cystitis is an inflammation of cat's bladder.  It is not clear what causes cystitis.  It is possible that the following factors contribute to this condition: infection, bladder stones (they might irritate the bladder wall), polyps, tumors, anatomical defects such as tiny pockets in the bladder wall (diverticuli).

Typical symptoms include:

         *  Straining to urinate

    *     Blood in urine

    *     Difficulty urinating

    *      Frequent trips to the litter box

    *     Failure to use litter box and urinating in unusual places

    *   Crying when urinating or licking genital area excessively

    *     Occasional leaking urine
